Sophie Hediger — a Swiss snowboarder who competed within the 2022 Beijing Video games — was tragically killed in an avalanche on Monday. She was simply 26 years previous.
Switzerland’s snowboarding federation introduced the heartbreaking information on Tuesday — revealing the incident occurred on the Arosa resort.
“We’re shocked,” Swiss-Ski CEO Walter Reusser stated in an announcement, “and our ideas are with Sophie’s household, to whom we categorical our deepest condolences.”
